POSITION PURPOSE
To provide psychiatric assessment and medication management for Whitman College students self-identified or referred. This position will work 16 hours/week from August until May.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication management for students.
- Provide consultative services to professional staff.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Counseling, Nurses and Primary Providers at the Welty Center.
- Participate in regularly scheduled care conferences.
- Complete documentation on Health/Counseling electronic medical record system.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Individuals must be able to explain and/or demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Expertise in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and
young adults, including but not
limited to Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and Mood Disorders - Strong communication skills
- Ability of work with a diverse student population
- Ability to work independently
- Strong time management skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS
- Appropriate licensure and/or board certification to practice in the State of Washington
- Passing Washington State Criminal background check
- Basic computer skills
