POSITION PURPOSE
To provide psychiatric assessment and medication management for Whitman College students self-identified or referred. This position will work 16 hours/week from August until May.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication management for students.
  2. Provide consultative services to professional staff.
  3. Establish and maintain professional relationships with Counseling, Nurses and Primary Providers at the Welty Center.
  4. Participate in regularly scheduled care conferences.
  5. Complete documentation on Health/Counseling electronic medical record system.
  6. Complete other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Individuals must be able to explain and/or demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Expertise in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults, including but not
    limited to Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and Mood Disorders
  2. Strong communication skills
  3. Ability of work with a diverse student population
  4. Ability to work independently
  5. Strong time management skills


MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS
  • Appropriate licensure and/or board certification to practice in the State of Washington
  • Passing Washington State Criminal background check
  • Basic computer skills
