The Associate Director of Online and Distance Education supports the curricular integrity, consistency, and assessment of all online offerings at Husson University. The Associate Director will be responsible for online adjunct hiring and management, quality course development and instruction, online general education, and retention efforts through student success initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Online and Distance Education, the Associate Director will work closely with online recruiters, advisors, and faculty to establish and deliver high quality online programs and initiatives consistent with Husson's brand and standards. The Associate Director will work closely with the campus Student Success team to ensure online students are supported with alignment to the place-based adult student. The Associate Director is responsible for working with online part-time and full-time faculty, online instructional designers, and academic leads to ensure that student-learning outcomes are being met at appropriate levels through excellence in academic delivery. The Associate Director will support the growth of online programs through supporting management of online course scheduling and instruction, and collaborating with the online enrollment team. Attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work under deadline is important.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for online retention efforts and student success.
• Develops and maintains relationship with Career Services to provide industry-relevant job sources and trend information. Creates opportunities to connect online students with faculty experts and career information.
• Supports creation of an efficient online course schedule, looking ahead to ensure degree completions.
• Manages online course development process and academic integrity/assessment.
• Manages and supports adjunct hiring and supervision.
• Teaches up to two online courses a year.
• Actively supports and provides academic training and information for recruitment efforts, including marketing and enrollment plans.
• Participates in Husson Online committees and serves as chair as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education: Master's degree; Ph.D. preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in higher education administration.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

• Direct experience in working with successful, productive online or distance education programs.
• Possess a solid understanding of online adult audience student support requirements.
• Possess an understanding of online learning and instructional technology and current trends and innovations.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders to meet organizational goals.
• Dedication to building a robust online enrollment based on quality curriculum.
• Strong analytic, problem-solving, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Positive attitude, flexibility, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
• Excellent communication skills -verbal and written – are essential.
• Effective organizational skills are necessary as well as a high regard for confidentiality.
