Key Responsibilities

Plans, monitors, supervises and manages maintenance services and utilities operations; develops and manages assigned projects.

• Responsible for building maintenance, central heating plant operations, central chilled water plant operations, campus infrastructure and planned maintenance, including architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades, as well as boiler & steam systems technicians.
• Responsible for assessing buildings, central heating plant, central chilled water plant, and campus infrastructure for safety, operation, maintenance and improvements, including developing short-term and long-term project lists.
• Responsible for assessing maintenance services for quality of services provided, safety, productivity and best practices including developing short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
• Provides project management services for assigned projects; oversees major/minor renovations and construction projects.
• Responsible for supervision of direct reports including leadership, recruitment, training, development and scheduling.
• Maintains fiscal responsibility within maintenance services budgets.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Works independently within established policies, procedures and guidelines. Must work cooperatively and collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups. Supervises building maintenance staff, central heating plant staff, and central stores staff.

Supervision Required/Given

• Knowledge and capabilities normally acquired through a high school diploma. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a supervisor in building maintenance, and/or the construction industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in building maintenance, and/or the construction industry, sufficient to demonstrate competency and capability with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades.
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Effective computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Valid PA driver’s license.
