Job Description Summary

We are looking for an innovative, talented, and collaborative Software Engineer III to join our DevOps team. While addressing the complex business software needs of a growing University, you will have opportunities to work with a variety of cloud-based applications and develop custom solutions.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Software Engineering: Designs and implements major system enhancements and new software solutions. Maintains complex information system configurations and integrations. Reviews and deploys code developed by other software engineers.
  • Define Technology Architecture: Works with Software Architect to continuously improve architectural designs and guidelines for the DevOps team.
  • Define Development Platforms: Works with Software Architect to maintain code libraries, repositories, and other software engineering resources used by the DevOps team.
  • Oversee Tools, Methods and Practices: Works collaboratively with the Software Architect and Software Engineers to devise improved practices for software development and information systems delivery. Mentors team members in adoption of Agile, test-driven development, continuous deployment, and other DevOps engineering practices.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data-structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
  • Solid understanding of web application security and session management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse technologies and techniques
  • Self-motivated with an ability to understand requirements, proactively solve problems and identify new opportunities
  • Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs
  • Experience developing web-based applications in environments such as MVC C#
  • Experience with relational databases and features such as complex queries, views, and stored procedures
  • Experience in developing applications using modern JavaScript Libraries like Angular2, React.JS, Knockout, BootStrap


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of relevant experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in an information technology, quantitative, scientific, or STEM related field
  • Experience in higher education or another governmental agency
  • Workday development experience
  • Salesforce development experience

  • This position requires a criminal background check.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.


NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is salary exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.

TARGET STARTING SALARY: The hiring salary range is $70,000 - $90,000 based on qualifications and work experience.
