- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three to five years of experience in fundraising or closely
- Defined success in sales, philanthropic fundraising and project
- Available to manage 50% travel, including evenings, weekends,
and holidays, when needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Assistant Athletics Director for
include fundraising and philanthropic efforts to
- Reach defined fundraising goals in dollars and members as set
by senior-level administration.
- Solicitation of constituents for major gifts and benefit
fulfillment to active donors and prospects.
- Work off assigned prospect list to evaluate, cultivate,
solicit, and steward donors.
- Use data and prospecting tools to find new constituents
interested in Appalachian State Athletics.
- Add Value to overarching athletic development unit to
successfully reach and grow financial and membership goals on
- Game day responsibilities and coordination.
- Donor/Prospect management reports.
- Athletic Development strategic planning support.
- Cultivate leadership donors/prospects and solicit their
- Work with head coaches to ensure annual fundraising initiatives

Commensurate with experience.
