Job Description
The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a full-time instructor (non-tenure-track) to begin August 2021 for a 3 year restricted appointment with the possibility of renewal. The instructor will teach multimedia journalism and sports media skills courses. They include Media Writing, Visual Media, Introduction to Sports Media, Sports Journalism, and Play-by-Play Reporting. The instructor will teach four class sections per semester.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in journalism, communication, sports management or related field
Professional media-industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
Full-time experience in sports journalism
On-air reporting or play-by-play experience
Knowledge of digital news/sports production
College-level teaching experience
