The SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University is a multi-disciplinary academic and public forum dedicated to strengthening global democracy by improving and expanding civic engagement and inclusive dialogue, and by supporting inquiry that leads to real-world change. SNF Agora is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Administrative Coordinator. The Senior Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and have high visibility with university leaders, key donors, and all faculty, fellows, and students who interact with SNF Agora. The Sr. Administrative Coordinator will support senior members of the institute’s staff as they work to advance the SNF Agora’s mission. Work assignments will involve considerable judgment, tact, creativity, initiative, an appreciation for tight deadlines, an unwavering commitment to the organization, a positive attitude, and a high level of confidentiality.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day
administrative support for the SNF Director and Deputy Director,
including:
- Heavy calendaring
- Preparation of meeting materials
- Facilitating virtual meetings and conference calls
- Screening calls
- Coordinating travel
- Expense reimbursements
- Assistance with special events planning and execution
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to work at a fast pace
- High level of judgment, reason, and discretion
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others
- Expertise in organizing meetings, managing inbound calls, zoom setup, conference call setup, and coordinating phone calls with remote participants.
- Demonstrated ability with office desktop technology, including working with the Microsoft Office suite of products – Word (word processing, letter composition, report formatting), Excel (basic data management), PowerPoint (presentation creation and formatting), and Outlook – and Adobe Acrobat.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
