Summary

The Chapel Media Production Assistant will assist in providing a dynamic, Christ-centered Chapel program for CBU students through key technical support and media production to facilitate worship and encourage spiritual growth by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Coordinates with professional staff and video talent to ensure high-quality video and audio capture of Chapel programming elements.
2. Schedules, produces, and records in-house video content for Chapel and other Spiritual Life programming, as assigned.
3. Establishes and ensures the implementation of procedures for video/audio equipment usage and maintenance.
4. Monitors and prepares for weekly recording equipment requirements to ensure peak performance while capturing high-quality content.
5. Assists in innovating new Chapel content and elements to promote higher interaction and participation.
6. Designs and maintains web-based sites for content delivery.
7. Maintains technical equipment and software related to effective fulfillment of responsibilities.
8. Creates and manages systems for filing and storage of raw and edited Chapel video/audio files.
9. Assists in design and content creation for Spiritual Life promotional purposes through digital signage, social media, and other various channels.
10. Manages social media platforms and information hubs unique to Spiritual Life, i.e. Instagram, Vimeo, Linktree, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may supervise student workers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 Ability and experience using current media equipment, software, and technologies including but not limited to digital audio, video production, audio and video post-production hardware and software.
 Skill in the use of personal computers as well as related software and web-based applications.
 A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
 Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
 Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
 Ability to use independent judgment, and to manage and impart confidential information.
 Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
 Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
 Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge, and experience.
 Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
 Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
 Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
 Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
 Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
