ATSU - General Maintenance Worker AZ

A.T. Still University is seeking applications for a General Maintenance Worker on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and restoration of the University, buildings, and grounds including but not limited to minor carpentry, plumbing, and limited heating/air conditioning work. This work will assist in ensuring the security and general appearance of the campus buildings and surrounding grounds are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.00 and may be higher depending on experience.

Major Job Duties:

• Daily inspection of buildings and grounds to ensure equipment is operating correctly and the campus is clean.
• Perform preventative maintenance including semi-skilled carpentry, painting, plastering, and limited heating and air conditioning work.
• Perform minor plumbing work to include replacing faucets, clearing drains.
  Repair and replace general hardware.
• Operate carpet cleaning machinery.
• Troubleshoot general building system issues and problems.
• Move furniture and other campus equipment.
• Assist vendors.
• Repair furniture.
• Process and respond to work requests.
• Replace light bulbs.

Periodical/Occasional Job Duties:

• Replace HVAC air filters and fan belts.
• Install floor coverings.
• Inspect Roofs for cleanliness and signs of damage/leaking.
• Support weekend events to ensure appropriate setup and cleanup activities are completed.
• Operate carpet cleaning machinery.
• Operate Fire Alarm System and Security System.

• Other duties as they are assigned; assist other co-workers as needed.
