Food Services Assistant Manager

Pay Range: $15.15 per hour or higher depending on experience

Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager reports to the McCall Field Campus Food Systems and Sustainability Manager. The position will work with the McCall Field Campus Food Systems and Sustainability Manager to plan, coordinate and provide food service for McCall Field Campus guests. Duties include training and supervising food preparation workers, planning and preparing comprehensive food services, developing relationships with local food producers, and educating McCall Field Campus guests about nutrition and campus sustainability initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience safely and efficiently with a minimal assistance or supervision.
• One or more years of experience in institutional kitchens, or other position, preparing food for large groups.


Preferred Qualifications:
• One year of culinary training.
• Experience with outdoor education and/or science education for children.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of dietary restrictions and food allergies, including proper food handling and workspace management.
• Experience with sustainable food systems, including establishing and perpetuating working relationships with farmers and other producers; sustainability and food waste education for students; and large-scale composting and recycling processes.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Applicant must perform repetitive motions, bending, stooping, and standing throughout shift, work on wet surfaces, around steam and cooking heat, and lift, carry, or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
