Emporia State University, a member of the NCAA Division II and Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association, is seeking applicants for the position of Deputy Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities:

The deputy director will have oversight of the following areas:

  • A comprehensive educational compliance program for all coaches, student-athletes, administrative staff and representatives of the University’s athletic interests
  • Academic services and programs that closely monitor the academic progress of freshmen, transfers, and at-risk student athletes
  • The Athletic Training department (as the Administrative Health Officer)
  • Game day management to ensure effective game day administration, including the coordination of game day staff
  • Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and community service activities.

Additional duties will include participating in university, MIAA, and NCAA meetings and committees, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience with a collegiate Athletics department. Master’s degree and experience with NCAA Division II athletic department compliance and rules education preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
