UW Bothell Information Technology is seeking a security focused Systems Administrator to join our team.

What you will do:

  • Work with team members to advance our organization’s technical and security roadmap.

  • Advise on how best to optimize local processes and utilize UW-IT infrastructure services.

  • Design, architect, test, and implement technical changes.

  • Provide day-to-day administration, support, and maintenance that will require some weekend and evening work.

  • Ensure issues are received, recorded, and solved in a rapid, efficient manner.

  • Contribute to customer-facing and internal documentation used for self-support.

  • Work effectively with management and staff and collaborate across teams.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, liberal arts, or a related field or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Windows systems administration.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (e.g., Active Directory, Azure, HyperV, SCCM).
  • Experience writing scripts in Powershell or equivalent.
  • Initiative and follow-through to own issues until resolution.
  • Desire to continuously learn new technologies, skills, methods, and best practices.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a customer-focused workplace.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively handle conflict in a respectful and positive manner.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituents including students, faculty, and staff.

    DESIRED:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a customer-facing support role.
  • Experience managing Windows systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with security best practices and industry standards.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Will require weekend and evening work.
