Working Title: Director, Center for Customized Research & Services and Economic Development Official Title: Director, Unspecified (7) Employment Class: Non-Instructional Academic Staff FTE: 1.0 Compensation: $79,800 to $92,850 FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: Annual, Limited Appointment Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for leadership, coordination and support to a wide variety of activities, projects, and tasks related to the daily and strategic operations of the Center for Customized Research and Services (CCRS). It is also responsible for the development, execution, and delivery of research and consulting projects for internal and external customers for CCRS. Finally, the position broadly supports economic development activities, including grant development and project execution and cultivation and maintenance of relationships with local, regional, state and national economic development partners. Responsibilities

40% Manage daily operations of Center for Customized Research and Services (CCRS)
1. Lead efforts to develop CCRS mission and strategic objectives
2. Oversee CCRS professional and student staff
(a) Evaluate staff performance in relation to goals, objectives and standards
(b) Evaluate and assign workload in relation to mission, vision and priorities of department
(c) Support and ensure professional development of staff
(d) Support UW Oshkosh and the Office of Equal Opportunity, Equity, and Affirmative Action goals in hiring, retention and promotion of staff
3. Develop revenue generation strategy and oversee implementation
4. Oversee budget development and expenditures including establishing short and long-term financial and operations goals
5. Ensure effective delivery of programming
6. Lead efforts to educate campus community and others about importance of the CCRS work
7. Develop CCRS marketing and promotion strategy and oversee implementation
8. Develop CCRS outreach strategy and oversee implementation

30 % Lead and direct internal and external customized research efforts
1. Lead project development efforts
2. Lead recruitment of campus and external professional resources to execute on projects.
3. Direct strategic operations of survey center capacity, including managing utilization, alignment of student resources, and internal and external promotion.
4. Serve as public representative of CCRS activities including public presentation of findings and media relations in coordination with UMC and other campus resources.
5. Lead the development of research symposia, speaker series, and other public events to support CCRS mission.
6. Research and advise University and community partners on economic trends and needs of the city, region and state and programming provided by others involved in economic and workforce development
7. Provide research and strategic support to external economic development agencies such as the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, the New North, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

4. Represent the CCRS and University at economic development and community relations events
5. Support efforts to coordinate and align internal economic development efforts, including understanding gaps, overlaps and synergies in programming, relationship to Sustainability Institute and development of an online portal. Qualifications Required: 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills
2. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact successfully with people on campus, in the broader community, statewide, and nationally
3. Ability to operate independently in handling a wide variety of situations
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality
5. Extremely strong documented skills in the following areas: self-awareness and professional development; communication and personal effectiveness; customer orientation; collaboration and partnership; achievement orientation; leadership
6. Graduate Degree
7. Ability to function well in a team-centered environment
8. Demonstrated experience in a research administration or other leadership position
9. Demonstrated experience leading special commissions, committees or teams
10. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Preferred: 1. Demonstrated knowledge of various laws, rules, policies and procedures that impact the organization and the operation of the university
