ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
The Office of Medical Education at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure, Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position. The faculty member will provide instruction in various basic sciences fields including Cell Biology, Histology, Embryology, Physiology, and Pharmacology and will serve as a facilitator for small group discussion in case-based learning, problem-based learning, and other small group sessions in periods 1, 2 and 3. In addition, the successful candidate will develop and evaluate learning modules that incorporate technology and simulations for medical education in an integrated curriculum and will serve as Co-Course Director for courses in periods 1 or 2, helping the Course Director with the development and submission of syllabus and exams, as well as organization of the course.
Minimum qualifications include a terminal doctoral degree MD/DO or Ph.D. in basic science disciplines, such as Biomedical Sciences, Anatomy, Pharmacology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or related field. Flexibility to teach across multiple disciplines, expertise with the use of technology and active learning instruction, and three years of relevant teaching experience are strongly desired.
