Job Description

The School of Plant and Environmental Sciences (SPES) seeks an enthusiastic individual to serve as Undergraduate Student Support Coordinator and Academic Advisor. The position provides critical support for the undergraduate programs through academic advising, career planning, curriculum management, and communication with external audiences and prospective students. The individual in this position will be responsible for the academic advising of undergraduate students, conducting student orientations and working with the Associate Director for Undergraduate Programs on student recruiting, student visits, managing the timetable of classes, course adds/withdraws/substitutions, and changes to the Undergraduate Catalog including check sheets as needed. The individual will also assist in teaching the 1-credit First Year Seminar class for SPES students.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in an agricultural or educational discipline, or a combination of education and experience. Experience in student support and career services. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master of Science degree in an agricultural or educational discipline. Experience using Banner. Experience teaching or advising high school or college students.
