Job Description

Reporting to the Director for Learning Partnerships, the Assistant Director for Learning Partnerships assists the Office for Learning Partnerships with strengthening co-curricular learning for students at Virginia Tech. As such, the Assistant Director works side-by-side with Student Affairs offices, units, and programs as champions for integrating the Aspirations for Student Learning into the culture of co-curricular experiences through the ExperienceVT initiative. Additionally, the Assistant Director supports the development and coordination of innovative, transformative, hands-on (sometimes-experimental) programs for students. The Assistant Director assists with oversight of daily activities for the Office for Learning Partnerships including day-to-day communications and learning-centered engagement with colleagues and student staff.

Required Qualifications

The selected individual must be a seasoned educator with an unrelenting commitment to student success, learning and diversity. | A master’s degree in a related field is required. | Experience and understanding of positive psychology and student learning/development literature is essential. | The Assistant Director for Learning Partnerships should be a collaborative self-starter with the highest level of communication, writing, administrative, and organizational skills. | The enthusiastic support of Student Affairs’ Aspirations for Student Learning, the mission of Virginia Tech, and the land grant spirit are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment is preferred. Knowledge of graphic design and video editing is preferred.
