Position Summary:

Teach CS&D790, 'Practicum in Communication Sciences and Disorders' for the 2020-2021 UW Speech and Hearing Clinic.

Principal Duties:

This position is for a short term clinical professor member in the department to teach CS&D790, 'Practicum in Communication Sciences and Disorders' in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This course is the clinical practicum course for first year graduate students in speech language pathology. Principal duties will be to train and supervise graduate speech-language students within the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic during direct client contact. Further responsibilities include regular evaluation of students to verify clinical skills. Other duties may include teaching in the area of speech language pathology as needed. The clinical professor will participate in departmental meetings, committees and events such as student orientation and open house as needed.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Masters or Ph.D. degree in speech-language pathology required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of three years of experience working in speech-language pathology and relevant experience in student supervision is preferred.

License or Certificate:

Candidates must be ASHA certified and state licensed (or eligible) in speech language pathology.

Additional Information:

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of the course(s) listed on the PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
