Position Summary:

The Translational Research Specialist will work in the Grimes Lab in the Department of Urology at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. This newly established lab is devoted to defining the molecular pathogenesis of lower urinary tract fibrosis in urethral stricture disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia in order to inform minimally invasive treatments. The successful applicant will contribute to research by organizing clinical databases, and performing histology, image analysis, and molecular biology techniques on human and animal tissues.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

B.S. in Physiology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Neuroscience, Developmental, Cell or Molecular Biology or related disciplines.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred:
Prior experience with clinical research, specifically the construction and maintenance of clinical databases.
Experience with histological techniques including immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and image analysis.
