Job Summary

The School of Nursing is seeking qualified applicants to teach Healthcare Informatics for the MSN program. This is a non-tenure track faculty position in the School of Nursing within the College of Education and Health Professions.

Responsibilities

This position requires expertise in the area of health informatics and health information management. The faculty member will teach health informatics in the graduate nursing program and mentor nursing students. The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration, work in continuous improvement of health professionals’ preparation and research, demonstrate exceptional ability to function as part of a team with university faculty and the community of practice, and engage in practices that support the University’s focus on student engagement and active learning.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics from a regionally accredited college or university is required. The s uccessful candidate must possess additional, suitable qualifications (graduate coursework, certifications, and/or related experience) to demonstrate expertise to teach graduate level informatics courses. Qualifications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have an earned doctorate, particularly in Health Informatics; evidence of successful teaching at the college level in both traditional and online environments; previous leadership experience in the academic and/or clinical environment; and knowledge/experience with CCNE accreditation.
