The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, an NCAA DI/FCS and member of the Southern Conference is looking for two (2) Assistant Athletic Trainers. Responsibilities include: sport coverage for the following sports: softball, football, volleyball, and wrestling; assist with clinical supervision of other sports practices and competitions, as needed; oversee intern for one sport; clinical instruction of student athletic trainers; inventory coordinator with clothing & supplies; inventory of all UTC equipment (capital); create formal index for vital clinical policies and procedures; update and maintain inclement weather policy; and maintain medical records through the Injury Tracking Software.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, and student-athletes
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • Must be computer proficient specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented

Minimum Qualification:

A Bachelor’s degree; certification by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); active membership in the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA); First Aid and CPR certification; and State of Tennessee athletic training license or eligible for such. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field; 1-2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer at DI level of intercollegiate athletics; experience working the following collegiate sports: football, softball, wrestling, track & field and volleyball; knowledge of computer-based injury tracking software (Sportsware); knowledge of Impact Concussion software; knowledge of WxSentry software; knowledge of UT system policy and procedures; knowledge of insurance processing and billing; knowledge of nutrition, strength & condition, and concussion protocols; commitment towards student-athlete welfare; experience managing doctors clinic; previous experience as clinical preceptor and working with a graduate athletic training program; knowledge of the Southern Conference; commitment towards fiscal responsibility; previous experience with supply inventory and modality maintenance; ability to provide strong leadership and direction for assigned administrative area of responsibility.
