Carnegie Mellon University, School of Drama invites applications for Visiting Professor in Directing.
We are seeking a Visiting Professor of Directing who will guide, mentor and advise both graduate (MFA) and undergraduate (BFA) directing students in a world-class conservatory environment. The instructing load is 3/2 (or 2/3 depending on the candidate’s areas of interest), including a mix of foundations in directing, genres and the creation of generative work. Advising responsibilities include working with directors on productions. The Visiting Professor will take part in the daily life and culture of the school.
We seek candidates with an evidenced dedication to anti-racist practices, who are prepared to help committed emerging directors advance along their paths. Your cover letter should narrate how your experience and/or training has readied you for this opportunity. We prefer a minimum of 3-4 years’ instructing experience, which can be aggregated from part-time as well as full-time positions.
The position is based in Pittsburgh with the start date of August 2021.
Applications will be accepted now through Tuesday, June 15th.
