Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
-Provide primary reception support both in person and via phone: answer questions, direct inquires and visitors to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Sitterding House (location of Central Division of Student Affairs and Monroe Park Dean of Students Office teams).
-Provide timely, courteous, and efficient administrative support, to professional staff in the Central Division of Student Affairs Office including, but not limited to, SVP, AVPs, Directors and other central office team.
Minimum Hiring Standards
-Knowledge of University policies and procedures and ability to provide accurate information in response to questions and inquiries is an important aspect of this position.
-The ability to apply knowledge of the Division and University policies, procedures, office locations and contact persons, committees and their functions and future plans in order to respond to inquiries and to support administrative functions of the office.
-Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient editing skills.
- Competent in the art of guest relations and customer service.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar.
-Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to use other office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, scanners, and digital cameras.
-Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
-Ability to multitask, be resourceful and creative, and have the ability to show individual initiative.
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Have a good record of attendance and be willing to pitch-in and provide assistance as needed within the building and within other departments in the Division of Student Affairs.
-Demonstrated experience working in a culturally diverse environment and the ability to provide service to diverse constituent groups.
-Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.
Preferred Hiring Standards
-Knowledge of the organizational structure of the Division of Student Affairs, especially
those offices and departments that provide support services to students
