Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Earth Sciences/Earth Systems Science in the Department of Earth Sciences (Ref.: 503950), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Geology or a closely related field. They should have research experience in basin analysis, sedimentary geochronology/geochemistry, paleogeography and statistics (particularly dealing with large provenance or geochemical datasets). The appointee will conduct research focused on tectonic–climatic interactions via the sedimentary record, which includes geological fieldwork, laboratory analyses, and data assessment.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
