Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Accountant (Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II) in the Coastal Education Foundation.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ascertain that receipt, expenditures and transaction data are properly captured for monitoring and reporting; analyze transactions in specific accounts and determine the propriety of the inclusion of specific charges in each account; discuss specific problems arising from the examination of financial records with superiors; process and post cash receipts journal entries for both CEF and CAF as well as post any adjusting entries to the general ledger; process accounts payable for both CEF and CAF, this includes entering all invoices due for payment, ensuring correct coding of expense, verifying vendor information, processing weekly check runs and performing reconciliations with vendors; process accounts payable for CCU RF as needed; reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger for all bank accounts related to CEF, CAF and CCU RF; assist department budget officers with preparation of annual budgets; interact with, analyze, prepare and distribute various financial and fiscal reports and statements on accounts for other departments, donors, vendors, etc. to facilitate accomplishment of mission; and other duties as assigned.


Requirements: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and prior related financial experience are required.  Equivalencies may be considered.  A master’s degree or CPA license is preferred.  Experience using Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge software is preferred and non-profit/Foundation experience is a plus.
