Portland State University’s School of Business invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Business Technology & Analytics (BTA) faculty member beginning Fall 2021. The School has launched an undergraduate concentration in Business Technology & Analytics and this faculty member will be joining a cutting-edge, high profile area that has plans for growth over the next five years. Requirements for the position include: (1) a Master’s degree in a discipline with a focus on business and technology, such as Information Systems, Technology Management, Technology Entrepreneurship, or similar. Candidates with purely business (e.g. MBA, Management) or purely technology (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science) degrees are welcome to apply, but will have to demonstrate their familiarity with technology and business respectively, either through courses taken or through professional experience; (2) recent experience and demonstrated effectiveness teaching upper-division IS/analytics/business technology courses; (3) experience working with or documented knowledge of two of the following: Python, SQL, data science and analytics methods, Tableau/PowerBI.

Preferred qualifications include industry experience working in business analysis, project management, or technology management; as well as interest in teaching fully online courses as well as hybrid and campus-based modalities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as needed. In addition, the School seeks candidates whose research, teaching, service, or background has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
