Position Summary:
The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts (http://www.uidaho.edu/class/theatre) invites applications for a full-time (9 month) Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Costume Design.

The successful candidate is expected to teach a 2:3 load (15 credits per year) or its equivalent according to the needs of the department as directed by the department chair. Should the faculty member take on a major design assignment in the production season, this duty is equivalent to teaching a three-credit course. The faculty member will pursue scholarly activity in one or more of the three categories as per department by-laws: publication, presentation, and/or creative activity. The faculty member is expected to participate in outreach activities as directed by their chair or dean. The faculty member is expected to attend department meetings and to participate in committee work at the department, college or university level.

Minimum Qualifications:
• MFA in Costume Design;
• Teaching experience at the university level.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience delivering coursework in a virtual modality using synchronous and asynchronous video;
• History of working with underrepresented populations in the American Theatre;
• Skill set that expands the current communities represented in our university and region;
• Secondary area of expertise in one or more of the following areas: history of costume, costume or design pedagogy.
