Oregon Tech is seeking applications for a Leadership Gift Officer for the Department of Development. This is a 12-month, full-time position that has the negotiable ability to work at either Oregon Tech campus in Klamath Falls or Wilsonville, Oregon. In collaboration with the Senior Development Director, the Leadership Gift Officer will be responsible for helping Oregon Tech reach its fundraising goals by identifying, prospecting, cultivating, and stewarding gifts of $10,000 and above. The Leadership Gift Officer will work to design and develop solicitation strategies, identify gift opportunities that match donor interests, and continually stewarding major gift donors. Reporting to the Senior Development Director the Gift Officer will collaborate closely with academic deans, department chairs, the Executive Director, and the Foundation Board of Directors to create and promote development and fundraising endeavors.

Required Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five (5) years’ experience in professional fundraising
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to establish positive relationships with major donors in-person and by phone, email, and correspondence
• Ability and desire to work with a diverse group of individuals

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commitment to embrace the mission of Oregon Tech and the Oregon Tech Foundation
• Understanding of STEM based programs and majors
• Knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly leadership gift fundraising
• Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers
• Willingness to build and expand external relationships
• Be a “self-starter” and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
• Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals
• Ability to have a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability
