Endpoint Support Specialist

Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for an Endpoint Support Specialist to work with the Endpoint Administrator to configure and deploy all physical endpoint hardware and software. This includes desktop and laptop computers, printers, and peripherals, as well as operating systems and software applications for faculty, staff, classrooms, meeting rooms, and labs. This position also maintains the hardware and software inventory and management tools. In addition, this position will be working with virtual platforms and applications. This position provides support for the campus community and colleagues in IITS.

Primary responsibilities include:

A. Works closely with the Endpoint Administrator and other members of the IT Infrastructure Team.
B. This position provides support for the campus community and colleagues in IITS.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots, manages and maintains Mac and Windows desktop computers, printers, peripherals, and licensed software. Service locations include offices, classrooms, computing labs, and other locations that require desktop support, including off campus locations.
C. Is involved in all phases of the endpoint management systems for Windows and Macintosh computers including computer upgrades and user data transfer.
D. Builds application packages for deployment for both Mac and Windows. Builds and deploys patches and updates to computers in use as needed.
E. Works with team members in routine operations, including data migration and computer replacement.
F. Establishes contacts and conducts meetings with both our user community and other IITS professionals.
G. Is involved in testing and planning for deployment of updates for operating systems and applications.
H. Provides Level I, II and III support for the College community in response to assigned Help Desk tickets and established hardware and software maintenance schedules and routines.
I. Works with and trains student workers. Maintains a professional environment in which students can learn skills and work ethics.
J. Promotes a secure computing environment and ensures the computing environment complies with existing policies.
K. Maintains an inventory of technical equipment.
L. Has strong documentation skills. Maintains documentation for systems and processes.
M. Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership. Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success.
N. Is responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.
O. Collaborates with all members of IITS as needed. Participates with members of the Utica College community on committees and as needed.
P. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology or comparative education.

• Length and quality of experience may be considered in lieu of a current degree.
