The Information Technology (IT) department at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) supports enterprise-wide computing; and is first and foremost committed to providing excellent technology support for faculty, staff, and students. We partner with campus departments, other universities, the University of North Carolina System Office (SO), and industry to make strategic investments in information technology infrastructure that will help maintain a competitive advantage in administrative applications, faculty support, and outreach to the State. We achieve this through increasing the core functions and deploying appropriate technology throughout the university

The IT Analyst Programmer II position is part of the Enterprise Systems & Applications (ESA) group, a division within the IT department at UNCSA. This team consists of programming specialists and analysts responsible for the design, development, implementation, operation, and enhancement of administrative computer applications for all students, faculty, and staff at UNCSA. This division supports the university web presence, the university enterprise resource planning (ERP) system (Ellucian Banner), and various interfacing systems used by administrative offices across the campus. This group works closely with central offices across campus, including numerous steering committees, to ensure administrative systems meet the needs of the university.

This position designs, installs, tests, codes, and debugs ad hoc and/or manages existing applications, servers, and infrastructure, including the implementation of new versions of existing software or the design of new software and strategies to support the institution’s mission. Works with functional areas to understand business requirements and implements applications to meet those needs. Works within a variety of software development lifecycles and project management approaches to achieve goals.
