Degree and Area of Specialization:

Masters Degree in Psychology or relevant area required. Ph.D. in Psychology strongly preferred. Demonstrated research expertise in area of specialization required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least one year of experience teaching in higher education, preferably at a large enrollment institution. Strong background in research is required. Ideal candidate will also have experience teaching Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods (writing intensive), as well as a specialty area course. Preference will be given to candidates with the flexibility to teach across the curriculum. Other courses may include child development, primate behavior, as well as courses in career exploration.

Candidates should have excellent teaching, interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail and precision, excellent organizational skills, ability to work and complete tasks under deadline pressures, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, and proven success and effectiveness in working both independently and in team.
