The UCM School of Aviation has a critical need for a full time, tenure-track faculty member to assist in the delivery of Aviation coursework and to engage as a vital and contributing member of the Aviation faculty. The purpose of this position is to develop curriculum, deliver instruction, evaluate student performance and conduct assessment activities in support of the mission of the School of Aviation. Primary area of focus will be the academic coursework associated with the Aviation Management degree option. Courses for this position will range from Aviation History, Aviation Management, Airport Management, Airport Leadership, Air Transportation, Corporate Aviation, Aviation Safety, Aviation Law, Aviation Accident Causation, Safety Management Systems, and other courses as required.

The School of Aviation supports the universities mission by providing high quality academic and technical education in support of the three Bachelor of Science degrees; Professional Pilot, Airport Management, and Flight Operations as well as a graduate degree, MS Aviation Safety.
The School of Aviation owns and operates its own airport, training aircraft fleet and associated flight simulation platforms and related technologies in support of the mission.

Required: Master’s degree in Aviation or a related field is required. However, an earned doctoral degree is preferred.

Education Qualifications:
• Master’s degree required: Aviation related (non-aviation related degrees may be acceptable with aviation related industry experience)
• Earned Doctorate preferred
• An earned doctorate will be required prior to application for tenure. If candidate does hold a doctoral degree at the time of his/her appointment, it will be required to be completed before the end of the fifth (5th) academic year.

Licenses & Certifications:
• FAA Private Pilot Certification is preferred
• AAAE Certified Member is preferred

Computer Skills Experience

Teaching or training delivery experience is preferred.
