Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The Department of Population Health is seeking two full-time lecturers. Chosen faculty will be expected to maintain excellent teaching, departmental and college service and scholarship. They will teach courses primarily in public health or healthcare administration with additional assignments in health sciences, bilingual healthcare studies, or related disciplines. They will also foster relationships with community health partners and health care facilities; enhance the professional attributes of students; serve as mentors to students in the classroom and in practical environments; work as members of a team to support all population health programs; assist with compliance with appropriate accreditation standards; and perform other duties as assigned. The appointment will require a 4/4 teaching load and on-campus presence during the week.

The position is a nine-month position with potential for summer employment.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Earned PhD or DrPH (Doctor of Public Health) from an accredited university in the U.S. in Public Health, Healthcare Administration; Epidemiology, Health Education, or related field preferred. MPH, MBA, MD, MHSA, MHA or related health disciplines may be considered.

Experience Required for the Position

Three years teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in institutions of higher education in the one or more of the program areas listed above are preferred. Professional experience, such as healthcare administration, health promotion, community health leadership, working with diverse populations, and the ability to speak Spanish will also strengthen the application.
