The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Monmouth College seeks a full-time one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology beginning in August 2021. The position is renewable, at the college’s discretion, up to two years. 

The department offers a combined major in Sociology/Anthropology and a Sociology/Anthropology major with a Concentration in Human Services. Candidates should have teaching experience and be able to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology; Global Cultures (an anthropological journey around the world); Medical Anthropology, Theories of Culture and Society; and a topical or regional course in their area of expertise. The successful candidate will teach three courses in Fall, 2021 and four courses in Spring, 2022.

A PhD in anthropology is preferred for this position, but ABD will be considered.
