Job Summary

The College of Human Sciences seeks a Multimedia Specialist to support communications and marketing efforts within the College. The successful candidate will work both independently and in a team environment, under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Communications and Marketing, to further enhance the vision and mission of the College of Human Sciences through both print and electronic communications. The chosen candidate’s main responsibility will be in the creation and maintenance of websites within the College and work closely with other forms of communication (print materials, newsletters, promotional materials, etc.) as necessary.

Essential Functions

- Assists in the creation and maintenance of electronic communication including graphic design and web design of sites via HTML / PHP code, Bootstrap CSS, as well as web-based content management system WordPress
- Assists in developing marketing plans to promote academic departments, programs, institutes, and/or centers within the College of Human Sciences to all relevant audiences (current and potential students, donors, alumni, industry professionals, etc.)
- Consults with campus communicators on web and marketing strategies, web maintenance issues, and/or web template usage

Education Level

Desired Qualifications

- Web design experience primarily working with Adobe Dreamweaver
- Vast knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic understanding of PHP
- Substantial use of web design and graphic design software (specifically the Adobe Creative Suite and web-based content management systems
- Ability to function efficiently and effectively in both independent and team work environments
- Ability to effectively problem-solve and remain on task in a busy environment
- Excellent creative, design, and editing skills
- Possess the ability to multitask and transition easily among projects with little or no notice
