Description

The School of Human Ecology, Department of Nutritional Sciences seeks applications for non-tenure-track positions (Lecturer-POOL) for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree program which includes four options: dietetics, nutritional sciences, nutrition and health, and teaching certification. All options combine a prescribed common core of science and nutrition courses with additional coursework in the area of specialization. The M.A. in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences focus on nutrient function and the role of nutrients in pathophysiologies such as cancer, diabetes and obesity. The program is designed to prepare individuals for research and teaching in academia, government, and industry.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate course(s) and additional duties which include providing service in teaching, curriculum development, outreach, and advising student organizations. Course assignments may vary depending on needs.

Position funding is pending budgetary approval, course availability and enrollment.

Qualifications

Pool applicants must hold a M.A., M.S., Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent relevant professional experience, and teaching experience. Candidates should provide evidence of teaching excellence and their ability to teach in a multicultural, multi-ethnic research university.
