Postdoctoral Associate



Summary

A postdoctoral position is available immediately (Summer 2021) in the Fuqua lab to study genetic and transcriptional mechanisms of tumor progression and hormone therapy resistance in breast cancer using human cell lines, animal patient derived xenograft models, and clinical specimens, with the goal to identify new mechanisms of resistance, and therapeutic targets that can be translated to the clinic. The successful candidate is expected to develop and carry out independent research projects, and work in collaboration with the bioinformatics team in the Cancer Center.

Selected skill sets, including chromatin immunoprecipitation-RNA sequencing, immunoblot, ex vivo culture, and immunoblot analyses, are preferred. The ideal candidate must hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree with expertise in molecular and cellular biology.

Job Duties
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Prepares project reports, scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts, and presents the research work in conferences or scientific meetings.


Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge about molecular biology and cancer biology, offered to help with posting enhancement and ad suggestions.
