Job Purpose

The Translational Research Lab, in the Center for Gene Therapy department, is seeking a highly motivated and responsible research technician. Daily work includes receiving, registering and processing blood samples. Collected plasma and PBMC need to be cryopreserved for different tests. The technician will perform DNA extraction, QPCR, ELISPOT, cytotoxicity assay and immuno phenotyping for indicated samples. Good candidate should be meticulous and have good planning and communication skills.

Job Duties
  • Isolation and cryopreservation of mononuclear cells from peripheral blood samples.
  • Register samples in laboratory databases for storage and further testing.
  • Provide requested samples to other lab members.
  • Extract of DNA and QPCR.
  • ELISPOT and stain for flowcytometry.
  • cytotoxicity assay

  • Submit data to PI's.
  • Maintain lab equipment and supplies inventory.
  • Document results and prepare for presentation.
  • Participate in the validations of new tests and applications.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience is required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
