Summary

The CFAR Senior Research Operations Associate will function as a Grant Program Manager, working under direction of the D-CFAR Principal Investigator to establish, implement and evaluate Texas D-CFAR programming and operations. The role will have the responsibility of applying appropriate management techniques and operational-level judgment to provide leadership in defining the direction, goals and requirements of the scientific collaboration and agenda between NIH, local and national institutions, and collaborators including other research institutions in Texas and local health departments.

Job Duties

The incumbent will conduct the following activities for Texas D-CFAR:

  • Assists in writing and submitting all grants, progress reports, and other reports for the D-CFAR.
  • Administers and assists in implementing Texas D-CFAR program components and activities including leadership meetings, strategic planning, user surveys, workshops, Core meetings, conferences, dissemination activities, community engagement activities and data collection activities for the Cores.
  • Coordinates the activities of the Texas D-CFAR with other institutions and organizations locally and nationally.
  • Sources and collects information from a wide variety of internal and external sources, analyzes and summarizes reports, and evaluates progress to support the programmatic goals of Texas D-CFAR.
  • Supports the dissemination team by maintaining and expanding effective communication tools to engage faculty and encourage increased participation in Texas D-CFAR services and events, such as websites, applications, social media, symposia.
  • Serves as liaison to local and national organizations.
  • Works with the Texas D-CFAR leadership and institutions in financial reporting and management.
  • Researches new funding opportunities to support ongoing program development. Individual will have an in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; and analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determine solutions relevant to the Texas D-CFAR.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources, and financial principles and practices.
