The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to join the Division of Genomic Epidemiology and Clinical Outcomes. Participation in teaching programs, including student mentoring and course leadership for graduate and medical students is expected.

Organization description:

The Dision of Genomic Epidemiology and Clinical Outcomes houses nationally-known experts in infectious diseases and clinical epidemiology. Members of the division include physicians and researchers engaged in epidemiologic research of infectious diseases. Members include physicians who direct Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and at the VA Maryland Healthcare System. The current research program is multidisciplinary and includes collaboration in microbiology, human genetics, health informatics, quality improvement, implementation science and statistics.

Qualifications :

A doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD/MS) in epidemiology is required. At least one year of post-doctoral fellowship is required. Interest in pursuing research related to infectious disease epidemiology is required. Expertise in research in antibiotic resistance and hospital epidemiology is optimal. Experience with large dataset analysis is optimal. Preferred candidates will have experience in epidemiologic study design and quantitative analyses.
