Department Of Anthropology
Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position
POSITION AVAILABLE: One or more temporary, part-time
lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for
appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2021 and/or
Spring Semester 2022.
THE DEPARTMENT : The Anthropology program in AGES offers a
Bachelor’s degree, preparing students for a wide array of
post-graduate opportunities, including graduate programs in
multiple disciplines. Through lectures, labs, seminars, and field
courses, students develop skills in problem-solving, analytical
thinking, and written and oral communication.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Duties consist of teaching
specialized courses within the subfields of biological
anthropology, archaeology, and socio-cultural anthropology. Please
note that teaching assignments at CSU, East Bay include courses at
the Hayward, Concord, and Online campuses.
RANK AND SALARY : Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon
educational preparation and experience. Position is subject to
DATES OF APPOINTMENT : Fall Semester begins August 17, 2021;
Spring Semester begins January 18, 2022.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum requirement MA, MS or Ph.D. and
university teaching experience is preferred. Applicants must have a
strong interest in student development, program-specific student
learning outcomes, excellence in teaching, and professional

necessary. Those presently in the pool, whether teaching or not,
