MARKETING AUTOMATION MANAGER

The Office of the Institutional Advancement (OIA) serves the educational goals of the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) by increasing awareness of CCC’s programs and outcomes among prospective students as well as internal and external stakeholders.

The District Marketing and Communications Department strives to create and maintain a strong, highly integrated district wide strategic marketing plan, essential to promoting the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) brand, building public awareness and a positive image of CCC, and supporting student recruitment strategies. In addition, the external communications program advances City Colleges’ strategic performance goals and leverages the coordinated resources of the Office of Institutional Advancement.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy, the Marketing Automation Manager supports district-wide digital marketing and lead generation initiatives. This role is key to the delivery of student and partner communication journeys designed to maximize engagement, applications and student enrollment across CCC, including journey design and configuration, audience segmentation and data management and reporting.

TheMarketing Automation Manager works collaboratively on cross functional teams to understand the goals and requirements of marketing initiatives and design,utilizing digital analytical and marketing automation toolsto successfully deliver scalable, measurable campaigns within Pardot, TargetX and Salesforce Marketing Cloud platforms. Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead end-to-end execution of district-wide email campaigns and communication journeys. Build and monitor and optimize campaign delivery, efficiencies, and performance based on established goals.
  • Set up, analyze and adjust email journeys using A/B testing and predictive analytic tools.
  • Execute and contribute to lead nurturing and lead scoring strategies; identify tactics for


continual improvement.

  • Manage and maintain the quality of marketing prospect database (segmentation, list acquisitions, bulk loads).
  • Collaborate with MarCOM (marketing communications) and college enrollment leads across CCC to provide day-to-day marketing campaign support for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Target X Platforms.
  • Provide campaign reporting and data analysis that can be replicated and scalable by enrollment leads.
  • Manage and report on digital marketing programs, including and maintaining data in dashboards.
  • Collaborate with content and design teams to build, manage and optimize Salesforce Marketing Cloud landing pages and assets.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of marketing, recruitment, and branding campaigns and message strategies that contribute to an overall inbound marketing strategy.
  • Continually learn, research, and recommend marketing automation and email best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, journalism, communications or a related field
  • Three years of experience in Digital Marketing, Demand Generation, Marketing Automation, SEM, SEO, and/or Social Media Marketing.
  • Relevant work experience in a higher education environment highly desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how advertising, landing pages and conversion rate optimization work together
  • Knowledge of SEO and paid search
  • Previous Experience with CRM systems and ESPs i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud/TargetX or Pardot
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible team worker
  • Solid technical skills and expertise with HTML and CSS optimized for email deployment
  • Keen eye and aptitude for trouble-shooting with solutions led approach
  • Experience of using Litmus (or Email on Acid)
  • Knowledgeable of email best practices and compliance rules


Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
