Work Hours

Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Typical Essential Duties

• Oversees equipment maintenance and repairs; work may involve troubleshooting issues and interpreting a variety of technical information.
• Supports lecture capture systems for instructors and other members of the College, including performing quality control for videos and sound trouble.
• Installs, maintains, and supports Audio/Visual equipment throughout the district.
• Provides training for all Audio/Visual systems.
• Researches, makes recommendations, and collaborates with internal departments and outside vendors to plan new installations, coordinate repairs, and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Coordinates with faculty, staff, students, administrators, the IT department, vendors, community members, and other internal/external personnel, departments, and/or agencies, to communicate information, provide technical support, purchase equipment and software, and facilitate departmental operations.
• Collaborates with third parties hosted by the district to provide Audio/Visual services and support for their events.
• Maintains an event calendar and ensures setups are completed on time for scheduled meetings, events and conferences.
• Assists presenters with equipment provided as needed and troubleshoots equipment performance as needed.
• Manages inventory, materials, and other supplies.
• Prepares, maintains, and/or updates reports, records, and other documentation; work may involve researching and compiling data.

Knowledge

1. Bachelor’s degree in related field such as electronics plus one (1) year progressively responsible, full-time, directly-related work experience, OR

2. Associate’s degree in related field such as electronics plus three (3) years progressively responsible, full-time, directly-related work experience.

3. Operational knowledge and experience with the equipment used in video production.

4. Technical analytical skills relevant to video production.

5. Highly developed artistic judgment and creativity related to composition, color and motion.

6. Ability to establish positive working relationships with a variety of employees.

7. Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record prior to driving on district business.

Skills

• Knowledge of applicable multi-media and audio-visual equipment setup, usage, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of customer service principles

• Skilled in setting up, using, and troubleshooting multi-media and/or audio-visual equipment

• Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require climbing, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, fingering, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations.
