Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Press, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was established in 1937. The press currently publishes approximately 50 books per year and 12 journals, in both print and electronic formats. The journals division has particular strengths in social science, environmental, and literary studies.

Working under general supervision of the Journals Manager, the Circulation and Business Development Associate is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships for both individual and institutional subscribers to content published by University of Wisconsin Press Journals Division with an emphasis on increasing the reach, readership, and revenue of the Journals Division. This includes working collaboratively with the Marketing Specialist to identify and manage outbound sales opportunities and to develop new campaigns. This position also works with the business office of the press and is responsible for undertaking some basic financial processes for the Journals Division.

4. Ability to work on a team and also work independently with a high degree of initiative.
5. Good judgement and decision-making skills.
6. Comfortable working with financial figures and numerical data.
7. Ability to multi-task to support multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
8. Experience with Microsoft Office, and web software for routine office functions.
9. Experience working in and with databases preferred.
