Associate Director for Clinical Services
Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Counseling, Accessibility, Alcohol and Other Drug Services, the Associate Director for Clinical Services (Associate Director II) assists in the administration of Office operations and supervises and manages counseling and clinical services staff. The Associate Director works collaboratively, creatively and flexibly in a university mental health setting offering a full range of services including: assessment, crisis intervention, group and individual psychotherapy, case management services, referrals, campus consultation and community-based programming/services; acts with the authority of the Director in their absence; and does related work as required. The Associate Director also r esponds to crisis and emergency situations. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the workday during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field; State licensure as a psychologist or in a related profession; and a minimum of three years of clinical experience including working with high-risk patients, as well as with complex and/or longstanding clinical problems is required. A Doctorate degree is preferred and may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Other preferred qualifications include: experience counseling young adults in a college or university setting; demonstrated commitment, sensitivity and skill in working with a diverse population; interest in providing education and training to clinical staff on clinical issues; and expertise in group therapy or trauma treatment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
