Position Summary:

The Bilingual Digital Media Specialist is an integral part of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and the FoodWIse team and works alongside the people of Wisconsin to improve lives and communities. Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide and national issues, improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts.

This dynamic position will review, edit, and produce content for videos and online presence across different platforms; assist with overall planning for video development and production; support social media maintenance and expansion; keep current on digital trends, and engage in forward-thinking about upcoming content needs.

This position is a part of the Division of Extension Institute of Health and Well-Being and the FoodWIse Program. FoodWIse is a community-based nutrition program, funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) grants. FoodWIse seeks to empower individuals with limited incomes to make healthy choices to achieve healthy lives and reduce health disparities. Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Position requires 2 years of applicable experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Required:
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years of applicable experience
- Spanish speaking, writing and comprehension skills; knowledge and understanding of Hispanic/LatinX culture. Language skills will be evaluated.
- Work, volunteer or life experience with people or groups with limited income
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods, including video filming and editing, and technologies including social media platforms
- Experience managing organizational social media sites
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and problem-solving skills in a team setting
- Ability to manage work responsibilities with flexibility and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
- Knowledge and skills to effectively interact with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity

Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Volunteer or work experience related to nutrition education or health promotion
- Experience working effectively as a member of a work group or committee
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work cooperatively with Extension staff, other local and regional agencies and partnerships, and other community-based organizations

Additional Information:

- Starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
- The primary accountability relationship for this position is the Health Communications Outreach Specialist for supervision, compensation and benefits, and performance reviews
- Expectation to make arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions
- Work evenings or weekends as needed to meet programming needs
