Digital Communications and Public Relations Associate

Bard College is seeking a skilled, creative, and collaborative digital communications and public relations associate to join the college’s communications team. Reporting to the associate vice president for communications, the digital communications and public relations associate will create engaging content for the College’s website and public relations materials. Strong writing and effective storytelling are at the core of this position. The associate will research and write compelling content about the college’s students and faculty and its innovative programs and partnerships with the goal of engaging prospective students and other local, regional, and national audiences. The associate will write fluently for multiple platforms to support admission and program development; raise awareness of the college and its network; and promote the college’s public programs, particularly in the arts. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position.

Bard College’s main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900 undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. The Bard Network is complex and demonstrates Bard’s priorities well in addition to the College’s emphasis on civic engagement.
