The Haverford College Biology Department seeks applications for a full-time faculty position in genetics/genomics (broadly defined) for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The position involves the equivalent of a five-course teaching load for the year. The successful candidate will contribute to our curriculum at a variety of levels working with undergraduate students from diverse racial, gender, socio-economic, geographic, academic and social backgrounds and identities.

In the fall semester, the successful candidate will co-teach our BiolH200 “Genes, Genomes and Evolution” class and will work alongside our lab instructor for two afternoon labs per week. They will also teach two upper-level half-semester courses in their area of expertise. In the spring semester, they will co-teach a junior level research lab class with a bioinformaticist and teach two half-semester advanced seminar classes for seniors in the candidate's area of expertise. The topic of the research course is open and there is the possibility of aligning this course to further the candidate's own research. Interest in, or experience with, team teaching across STEM disciplinary boundaries is highly valued. Expertise in environmental biology would be preferred but is not required and candidates in all areas of genetics/genomics or connected fields are encouraged to apply.
