J OB SUMMARY:

Skidmore College is accepting applications to fill a full-time Grounds Mechanic vacancy. The Grounds Mechanic repairs and maintains grounds vehicles, equipment, machinery and related mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, transmissions, drive lines, wheels, brakes, tires, steering gears, fuel cooling/heating, ignition, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, chassis, frame body parts, sensors, gauges.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license is required.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds with appropriate equipment and assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PAY RATE:

$19.54 per hour
