Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder Athletics department encourages applications for a Creative Design and Content Manager . This position is responsible for the conceptualization and design of digital and social communication elements for Women's Basketball (WBB) recruiting. Work includes managing recruiting content for all WBB social media channels including related photography and crafting digital design elements such as social media graphics, motion graphics (GIFs), etc. This position works closely with the Director of Digital Strategy on overall engagement strategy for WBB social media channels to ensure strategic consistency, additionally collaborates closely with the Creative Services Manager to ensure that all digital and printed materials are consistent with the Athletic Department brand and graphic standards utilizing approved elements and assets. Works closely with the coaching staff to execute all activities, timelines and results to successfully complete a wide range of requests and will ensure a consistent identity and brand.

This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objective of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Pac 12 conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Digital Graphic Designer
  • Work with WBB coaches on assigned projects and requests from the point of inception through the final delivery to ensure creative concepts are adhered to and schedules and due dates are met.
  • Create effective design pieces to support CU WBB.
  • Partner with the Creative Services Manager and Director of Digital Strategy to ensure that all digital and printed materials are consistent with the Athletic Department brand and graphic standards.
  • Work with internal and external departments/vendors to ensure standards of excellence are met (i.e., quality, content and turnaround).
  • Work closely with coaches to provide weekly job status updates to the Head Coach to ensure timely communications on upcoming and current planned jobs.


Brand Management:
  • Work with CMO, Assistant AD of Marketing, Creative Services Manager, and Director of Digital Strategy to ensure that all WBB crafted materials adhere to established department brand guidelines.
  • Serve as WBB program’s resource for all questions related to design execution of our brand guidelines.


File Management:
  • Maintain an effective job list process that tracks the status of all projects in process.
  • Manage and maintain an organized digital asset library.
  • Archive all completed creative projects.


What We Can Offer

  • The salary rate is $62,000.
  • Additional Compensation Details: Relocation is available within department guidelines. What We Require
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Minimum of 1 year of directly related creative design experience.
  • Knowledge of the game of basketball.


What You Will Need

  • Demonstrated visual design skills (e.g., typography, color, layout, and digital design, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media marketing and engagement (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.


What We Would Like You To Have

  • 4 or more years of directly related creative design experience.
  • Knowledge of GIF production.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, After Effects and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using a video camera and filming practice/games.
  • Understand Synergy Sports Technology.
  • Understand Sportstec video editing system.
