Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Assistant Director of Athletic Development Operations is a member of a team of development and advancement professionals within a dynamic and growing athletics program. Under the direct leadership of the Executive Director of the Seahawk Club, the Assistant Director will:

• Develop and execute targeted strategies to increase alumni and friend giving with a gift level concentration of $1,000 to $10,000

• Advance active proposals for a portfolio of prospects

• Track progress through Advancement’s prospect management system

• Direct the effective handling of gifts

• Assist in the management of Seahawk Club communication strategies

• Coordinate with Ticket Operations

• Manage donor benefits

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelors’ degree

• Two years of professional fundraising experience in a higher education athletics environment

• Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising

• Ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle

• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, relationship building, and creative problem solving skills

• Knowledge of marketing and social media, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships within the university and the community

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Understanding of the needs and interests of donors in order to develop relationships between them and Athletics

• Ability to request and interpret complex data reports to determine potential prospects

• Demonstrated ability to work interdependently and independently in a collaborative environment is vital

• Experience in a Division I university environment.

• Demonstrated passion for service excellence, integrity, a positive outlook, commitment to highest standard of donor ethics, a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and committed to high performance and dedication to the value of higher education

• Experience in sales, marketing or communications
